SharePoint Recovery after Receiving File Damaged Error

SharePoint server display error message after damage, a corrupt or damaged SharePoint database can also makes all your stored information inaccessible. It gets corrupt due to the many reasons like bad sectors in storage media, virus attacks, software malfunctioning etc. Due to corruption of database website becomes inaccessible and users are unable to access the related data.

Think that you are trying to access a SharePoint related site and unable to access anything such as dashboard site or the SharePoint Portal Server Administrator Console. And it display error message when you try to restart the Server service:

Could not start the SharePoint Portal Server service on Local Computer

This error message is actually a warning message for the user so that they can try any method to remove this error and save their precious information from permanent damage. 

Reason of SharePoint Error Message:

There could be two probable reasons behind any error message relate to this database:

• Low disk space may affect the Microsoft Exchange Information Store (MSExchangeIS) service. Because, SharePoint Portal Server (Msdmserv) service add up on MSExchangeIS to begin; it cannot restart, if MSExchangeIS doesn't run.
• The second reason is the database file may be damaged or gets corrupt due to any problem, it happens due to many reasons.

How to Fix SharePoint Errors:

Try the bellow given tips; it will repair your database if it gets corrupt due to the first reason, i.e., server running out of disk space

Try to free some disk space on the SharePoint Portal Server drive.

After doing this stop the MSExchangeIS service and restart it.

Then you see that the server start working normally.

If the above given steps doesn’t work then the database corrupt due to second reason so  you will need to recover or restore SharePoint database file from an updated backup file. But apply restore method only when the backup file is updated, because an outdated backup file may harm your stored data.
